Who can be a Mentor?

Mentors are IPA members who volunteer their time to be available to fellow members who request mentoring. A mentor for the IPA Mentoring Network should be an experienced professional in the field of probiotics, who is interested in the development of others who desire guidance in learning and exploring the field of probiotics. Additionally, a mentor who is willing to share his or her time and resources to assist mentees in reaching their career or educational goals is highly desirable.

Qualities of a Mentor

We welcome mentors who have an interest in investing in the future of the field of probiotics by providing feedback to mentees and maintaining confidentiality. All that is required is experience or background in the field of probiotics as a scientist, researcher, health professional, or other related area and to share expertise with interested mentees.

Why become a Mentor?
  • Contribute to the development of probiotics, as a growing field of interest to health professionals, scientists, researchers, manufacturing and food company professionals, etc by assisting others with exploring career-path and networking opportunities.
  • Providing advise on related topics of interest for probiotics.
  • Assist new professionals, new graduates, etc in building successful careers on the area of probiotics.
  • Identify potential staff for your organization.
  • Receive discounts on exhibits and conferences sponsored by the IPA
